Her Music Night:

At a loss for something fun to do tonight? Fear not! Well, fear not if you're in London Town.... Head down to the Levi's Store on Regent Street and enjoy some tunes from Joy Formidable and Rox. And guess what? It's free!

RSVP on www.facbeook.com/levisuk
Levi’s® is hosting an exclusive music showcase of female fronted artists at their Flagship store on Friday evening (11th March). The line up includes soul sensation of the moment Rox and the uber cool Joy Formidable.

The female fronted gig ties in nicely with the expansion of the Levi’s® Curve ID collection. Levi’s® has introduced the Classic Curve to the Curve ID line, for women who prefer a slightly higher rise jean. The new Classic Curve line hits stores this week and has taken prime position within the origin space of the Flagship store.

Her Pipes:

I'm going to step away from fashion for just a moment. I had an exhilarating experience earlier this evening. I went to my first singing lesson in about two years. I have taken lessons on and off for years in Toronto, but I haven't gotten around to it in London for various reasons (mostly involving the usual culprits, money, time...)

But no more excuses, I decided. And I don't know if it was the teacher, or just being too tired to care, but I applied myself better than I ever had in a lesson. I gave myself over to the experience wholly and just belted notes out. Granted I sometimes still held back a little, but I also broke through some pretty strong mental blocks. And you know what, I didn't suck.

Actually, I was even good. And it got me thinking about why it has taken me this long to think I could be. Why have I always held back so strongly before? Perhaps moving to London was the best decision I ever made, completely freeing me of negative thought-patterns and attachments that being in Toronto allowed me to hold onto. Here, there is nothing to lose (well, except money... damn you Topshop).

But should it really take drastic measures like moving across the ocean to progress properly? No, many of my friends back home are doing amazing things with their lives. I think it comes down to how we're wired. I can be a bit extreme and dramatic, so I probably work best in those situations.

In conclusion: crazy mind + reckless decisions = results!
